The Ministry of Emergency Situations called the number of ammunition neutralized in the LPR, DPR and Zaporizhia since 2022

More than 279,000 explosive objects were defused in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) and Zaporizhia region. This was announced on March 26 by the head of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, Alexander Kurenkov.

"Starting in 2022, an area of over 8,598.2 hectares has been cleared in the DPR, LPR and Zaporizhia regions alone, and over 279,446 explosive objects have been found and neutralized," he told TASS.

Kurenkov clarified that in 2025, almost 138 thousand explosive objects were discovered and neutralized. At the same time, the territory with a total area of 3.2 thousand hectares was cleared.

According to Kurenkov, in modern conditions, Ukrainian formations use various types and compositions of ammunition, including artisanal ones.

On February 18, Kurenkov announced that the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation would annually send up to 5,000 conscripted military personnel to the units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. According to him, this will make it possible to recruit the Federal Fire Service without increasing the staffing of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
