Vladimir Besprozvanny, a urologist and andrologist at SM Clinic, warned on Wednesday, March 25, what could be dangerous about prostate adenoma if it was not treated.

According to the doctor, an adenoma is a benign neoplasm, but when it grows, the prostate gland begins to squeeze the vessels through which blood flows to the penis.

"Impaired blood supply to the penis is one of the main mechanisms for the development of erectile dysfunction. Moreover, the larger the adenoma, the more serious the problems with potency. Plus, improper blood flow in the pelvis can cause congestion, which also affects an erection," the urologist explained in an interview with Lenta.Ru .

Bezprozvanny added that prostate adenoma provokes a decrease in testosterone levels. In addition, chronic inflammation and physical manifestations of the disease cause stress, which negatively affects sexual function.

"A man does not sleep well due to frequent nocturnal urination, experiences anxiety, and begins to avoid intimacy. Psychological stress is superimposed on physiological discomfort, and potency decreases even more," concluded the urologist.

Earlier, on March 17, Philip Kostyunin, a urologist and andrologist at SM Clinic, said that chronic prostatitis is a disease that can lead to sexual dysfunction and other very serious health problems.

According to the expert, the main threat of chronic prostatitis lies in the latent course of the disease. Under the mask of chronic prostatitis, malignant tumors of the prostate gland can often be hidden, since in the early stages the symptoms and manifestations of these pathologies are minimal and similar to each other.

Artur Bogatyrev, a urologist and andrologist at the SM Clinic Center for Reproductive Health, said on February 18 that the full functioning of the male reproductive system largely depends on sufficient intake of vitamins and trace elements. So, first of all, the specialist identified vitamin C. According to him, it is a strong antioxidant that protects cells from the damaging effects of free radicals.

In turn, surgeon and oncourologist Mark Gadzian warned that frequent urge to urinate at night may be a symptom of prostate cancer or prostate adenoma. 360.ru .
