The main risk of tattooing is due to the fact that the immune system's reaction to the introduction of a foreign substance in the form of paint into the body is unpredictable. Valentina Panikashvili, a pediatric dermatologist, told Izvestia about this.

"The connection between the introduction of pigment and the triggering of cascading immune reactions with the further development of oncological and autoimmune diseases has been proven. When drawing a picture, the possibility of contracting infections is also possible," the doctor warned.

According to the expert, during the tattoo creation process, the tool and paint come into direct contact with blood, which can lead to infection with hepatitis, HIV and other viral or bacterial infections.

"The danger is a violation of sterility and hygiene rules, as well as the lack of careful care after the procedure," the source said.

She also attributed the formation of keloid scars, allergic reactions, thermoregulation disorders, and perspiration to the medical risks associated with tattooing.
