Hundreds of deposits of solid minerals, as well as dozens of oil and gas facilities, may be discovered in Russia in 2026. This was announced on March 25 by Oleg Kazanov, head of Rosnedra.

"These will be dozens of new deposits for hydrocarbon raw materials and hundreds of deposits for solid minerals," he said in an interview with TASS.

Kazanov noted that the process of field discovery defies strict planning and is largely creative in nature. According to him, it is impossible to determine the exact number of discoveries in advance, but the agency knows the approximate figures.

On January 11, the head of Rosnedra announced that last year, according to preliminary data, the increase in industrial reserves ready for oil production in Russia amounted to 490 million tons, the corresponding figure for gas is 650 billion cubic meters.
