The Ostankino District Court of Moscow banned Telegram channels that contained instructions on financing banned organizations. This is stated in the materials that Izvestia reviewed on March 24.

It is specified that we are talking about associations whose activities are aimed at violating the constitutional foundations of Russia. Access to the channels was free and did not require prior registration.

The day before, the Tagansky District Court of Moscow found the Telegram messenger guilty of committing administrative offenses related to the failure to delete prohibited information. He imposed a fine of 10.5 million rubles.

Prior to that, on March 18, it was reported that Telegram had blocked more than 100,000 groups and channels in a day. Since the beginning of March, Telegram has blocked 1,547,231 communities, of which more than 9,000 are linked to terrorism. Since the beginning of 2026, the total number of blocked groups and channels has reached over 10 million.
