Putin appoints Alexei Ushakov as Russia's Ambassador to Peru

Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed Alexei Ushakov as Ambassador to Peru. The relevant decree was published on March 24 on the official Internet portal of legal information.

"Appoint Alexei Anatolyevich Ushakov as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Peru," the document says.

Putin also signed a decree dismissing Igor Romanchenko from the post of Russian ambassador to Peru.

The American side sent an official note with an agreman on February 28.

On March 3, the Russian President appointed Georgy Mikhno as the Russian Ambassador to Poland. In December 2025, Putin relieved Sergei Andreev of his duties as ambassador to Poland.
