Fasting does not create a heavy load on the body, however, some digestive disorders may occur after it. On April 8, Evgenia Klippenstein, a gastroenterologist at the K+31 clinic on Lobachevsky Street, gave Izvestia recommendations on how to safely return to her usual diet.

"During the weeks of restrictions, the digestive system adapts to a different diet, often more "light" with a predominance of the vegetable component. The intestinal microbiota, which is responsible for our immunity, requires careful transition from restrictions during Lent. A sudden "leap" to the usual menu — meat, fatty dishes, sweets — can provoke bloating, diarrhea or constipation, and cause dyspeptic complaints in the patient (pain in the stomach, a feeling of early satiety after eating)," the expert explained.

In the first days after fasting, it is recommended to start with warm water, herbal tea, vegetable dishes, fermented dairy products, as well as lean meat (chicken, turkey) and fish.

Meals should be in small portions three to four times a day, you should not overeat. For example, it is useful to include low-fat kefir or yogurt without additives, baked fruits (apples, pears) in the diet.

Stewed vegetables or cereals with a small amount of vegetable or butter will be a good addition, the specialist added. Usually, by the end of the first week after leaving the fast, the body returns to its normal rhythm and basic diet.

In February, nutritionist Roman Pristansky told how to maintain a fast and not lose it. According to him, this can be avoided if you do not starve, but make a balanced diet: add protein and fat sources, such as fish and seafood, diversify your diet and select calories so that there is no energy deficit.
