The DPRK has changed the name of the constitution
In the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), the name of the constitution has been changed, removing the word "socialist". This was reported on March 24 by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
According to KCNA, the meeting on the second day of the first session of the 15th Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK ended with a report by Chairman of the Supreme People's Assembly Cho Yong Won.
"He provided a detailed explanation of the contents of the amended and supplemented draft, including renaming the "Socialist Constitution of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea" to the "Constitution of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea," the publication says.
Cho Yong-won noted that the introduction of amendments to the constitution in accordance with the new stage of development is an important milestone in the legal provision of "socialist construction and the victorious advancement of the cause." The meeting reviewed the draft and unanimously adopted the amendments.
On March 23, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un delivered a keynote speech at the first session of the 15th Supreme People's Assembly of the Republic of Korea and stated that the Republic would continue to strengthen its status as a nuclear power. Kim Jong-un also announced that South Korea is considered by the republic as a hostile state.
