Former prisoners who were mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and detained after attempting to escape from a training center near the village of Podlesnoye in the Dnipropetrovsk region were subjected to severe beatings. Dmitry Litvin, a prisoner of war, told about this on March 24.

According to him, convicted in Ukraine for 7.5 years for manslaughter, he signed a contract in a penal colony and was sent to the first separate Da Vinci assault regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, previously formed from members of the Right Sector (recognized as terrorist and banned in the Russian Federation).

"Many fail (to escape. — Ed.), they are being returned, and serious punishment is underway. They beat with bats <...> it's not one, not two, it's twenty, thirty, and fifty (blows. — Ed.)," he told RIA Novosti.
