Kimakovsky declared the sacred nature of the liberation of Slavyansk in the DPR

The liberation of the settlement of Slavyansk in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) is sacred, because it was from there that the Russian Spring began in 2014. This was announced on March 23 by Igor Kimakovsky, adviser to the head of the DPR.

"Slavyansk is not just a city for all of us, it is a special place, it is a place of power, it is the place where the Russian Spring began. And therefore, for us, the liberation of this city is even, I would say, of a sacred nature," he said in an interview with Vesti.

Kimakovsky added that the Ukrainian side is aware of the symbolic significance of the settlement and wants to turn it into an information fortress, effectively razing the city to the ground.
