During negotiations on the prisoner exchange, Kiev demands the return of the militants of the Azov national battalion (recognized as terrorist and banned in the Russian Federation), ignoring the interests of ordinary mobilized. This was stated on March 23 by Russia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, during a meeting of the Security Council convened on the initiative of the Ukrainian side.

The diplomat stressed that the fate of ordinary military personnel, who are often sent to the front line against their will, fades into the background for Kiev.

"This eloquently testifies to the system of priorities of the Kiev regime," Nebenzia concluded.
