The blogger's lover Luis Squicciarini announced on March 20 that she was undergoing comprehensive treatment, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radiation therapy. According to him, the course consists of nine procedures, which are carried out with an interval of three weeks.

"She's holding on, but it's very hard. Three therapies in parallel is very difficult for a person," said Squicciarini.

Currently, Chekalina's condition is assessed by doctors as moderate, she is forced to move in a wheelchair. The examination revealed multiple metastases in the spine, lungs, skull bones and brain. Squicciarini noted that after the start of the course of immunotherapy on March 18, there were some improvements in the blogger's condition.

Lercek's complaint to the Investigative Committee

Chekalina's defense stated that the investigator systematically refused to visit private medical centers. The lawyers published copies of four documents, according to which the blogger was not allowed visits to the Mother and Child clinic, as well as to dentistry. According to the defense, difficulties in obtaining permits for medical care during the period of house arrest led to the fact that a serious illness was not diagnosed on time.

In this regard, on March 20, Chekalina sent a statement to the Investigative Committee demanding that the actions of police officers be checked. In turn, on March 20, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moscow denied information about the ban on treatment. The ministry stressed that all requests for visits to public hospitals were fully satisfied, and refusals concerned exclusively commercial institutions.

Court decisions in the Lercek case

On March 16, the Gagarin District Court of Moscow decided to suspend the criminal proceedings against Chekalina. This is due to a sharp deterioration in her health. The court changed the measure of restraint from house arrest to a ban on certain actions, allowing the blogger to use the Internet only to communicate with medical and educational institutions.

At the same time, it became known about the full repayment of the blogger's tax debt in the amount of 176 million rubles. The bulk of the amount was transferred by an anonymous benefactor to the accounts of her individual entrepreneur. Due to the debt repayment, the consideration of the issue of bankruptcy by Chekalina has been postponed until the end of March. The blogger's children are currently with their father Artem Chekalin.
