Serbian President Vucic condemns attacks on UAE
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic flew to the UAE on Sunday, March 22 for a meeting with the country's president Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and publicly condemned a series of attacks against vital facilities and civilian infrastructure of the Emirates.
"During the meeting, I once again strongly condemned the attack on the UAE, as well as Serbia's full solidarity with the friendly people of the Emirates in these difficult and disturbing conditions," he wrote on Instagram (owned by Meta, which is recognized as an extremist organization and banned in the Russian Federation).
Vucic noted that his visit was not publicly announced, and the dialogue with the UAE president took hours. He clarified that the bilateral relations of the countries were discussed during the negotiations. He stated that Serbia intends to continue comprehensive cooperation with the Emirates from investments and energy to new technologies and other development projects.
The UAE Foreign Ministry said on March 21 that the leaders of 22 countries are ready to contribute to protecting security in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz from Iran's actions. According to the statement, the countries also welcome the decision of the International Energy Agency (IEA) to allow the coordinated release of strategic oil reserves.
The foreign ministers of 12 Arab and Islamic countries, during a meeting in Riyadh on March 19, called Iran's military strikes on the Persian Gulf states unjustified. The summit was attended by representatives of Azerbaijan, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Pakistan, Turkey, Syria, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
