The diagnosis of abdominal obesity in men is established with a waist circumference of 94 centimeters, follows from the guidelines for the medical examination of persons of reproductive age. This became known on March 23.

The relevant document, which was reviewed by RIA Novosti, was approved by the Russian Ministry of Health in February 2026.
