An earthquake of magnitude 6.3 occurred southwest of Samoa. This was announced on March 22 by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).

The epicenter of the tremors was located 184 km southwest of the capital of the island state of Apia, which is home to more than 40 thousand people. The hearth was located at a depth of 10 km.
