The ceremony of the descent of the Holy Fire in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre on April 11 will be held even under conditions of restrictions against the background of the situation in Israel. The Jerusalem Patriarchate announced this on March 22.
"During the meeting with the clergy, His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of the Holy City of Jerusalem said that if the situation continues as it is now, that is, the doors of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre will be closed for security reasons due to the situation in Israel, then the Holy Fire ceremony will still take place on Holy Saturday," the newspaper reports.
