In St. Petersburg, a court arrested a teenage girl on suspicion of incitement and complicity in murder. Earlier, her accomplice, suspected of murdering a 17-year-old boy, was also arrested. The body of a young man was found on March 19, a few days after his disappearance. According to the investigation, the student was stabbed to death by his friend, and the reason for the brutal massacre was the complaints of the victim's ex-girlfriend. Read more about the incident in the Izvestia article.

When the tragedy occurred

The student disappeared on March 16 — he left his home in the village of Pushkino and stopped contacting. The next day, his mother filed a missing person report with the police, and a volunteer search began.

A few days later, on March 19, the body of a teenager with stab wounds was found near the Kondakopshino railway platform. There, law enforcement officers detained a 16-year-old suspect, who returned to the scene to conceal evidence.

It is known that the deceased young man studied in the 11th grade of the Physics and Mathematics Lyceum. The student's grandfather said that his grandson was an excellent student and planned to become an engineer in the future. Teachers and relatives called him a single-minded young man.

The director of the educational institution also described him as a polite and diligent student, noting that the young man did not miss classes and did not participate in conflicts, but added that he had been acting a little withdrawn lately.

The Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation has opened a criminal case on the murder committed by a group of people by prior agreement. The prosecutor's office took control of the investigation.

The cause of the conflict and the circumstances of the murder

According to preliminary data, the reason for the murder was jealousy. The suspect stated that he had committed the crime because of his girlfriend, who had previously been in a relationship with the deceased. At the time of the murder, the couple had already broken up. According to the detainee, the girl complained of violence from a former young man and said she wanted to take revenge on him.

It is assumed that the young men met at the railway station, after which a fight broke out between them, during which the suspect stabbed the victim several times.

Later, he called the schoolgirl in order to hide the body in the swamp. The young man also confessed that the initiator of the crime was a girl, and he got the weapon from her.

On March 17, law enforcement officers came to check on the ex-lover of the murdered man. After that, she called a friend and asked him to get rid of the evidence, then the teenager returned to the crime scene and dismembered the body.

Arrest of the defendants in the criminal case

On March 20, the Pushkin District Court of St. Petersburg arrested the suspect in the murder until May 18, 2026. He was charged under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder").
The detainee asked the court to place him under house arrest instead of arrest. The student stated that he was not going to escape punishment, and it would be psychologically difficult for him to be in a pre-trial detention center. His position was supported by his lawyer and his mother. However, the court refused the suspect's request.

The investigating officers also questioned the alleged accomplice of the crime. After that, on the morning of March 19, the schoolgirl took a medication that she took from a friend, after which her health deteriorated sharply, and she ended up in intensive care. Doctors recorded the serious condition of the minor. Later it became known that the poisoning was stopped, and the girl's condition became stable.

On March 20, the UK detained her on suspicion of incitement and complicity in the murder of a peer. The next day, on March 21, the court arrested the schoolgirl for two months. During the meeting, she stated that she did not agree with the accusation.
