On March 21, American billionaire Elon Musk announced the launch of the Terafab microchip manufacturing project.
"Together with Tesla and xAl, we are building the largest production of microchips in the history (1 TWh/year) — combining logic, memory and advanced packaging under one roof," he wrote on the social network X.
It is noted that the production goal is to generate a trillion watts of computing power per year. According to Musk's statements, most of the electricity will go into space.
The project, according to Musk's publications, may be beneficial to the United States. So, Musk made a repost of the post, where it was said that 90% of global chip production is fixed in Taiwan, and the Terafab project can bring the United States to the lead.
