"A number of local political forces in one way or another raise the issue of the need for Nicosia to reassess its foreign policy priorities. There are also clear calls for the speedy restoration of a full—fledged dialogue with our country," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

It is noted that pre-election campaigning for the parliamentary elections has already begun in Cyprus. He expressed the hope that Russian-Cypriot relations would be based on business, cultural and spiritual ties.
