Cyprus lost €1 billion due to a decrease in the tourist flow from Russia. This was announced on March 22 by Russian Ambassador to Cyprus Murat Zyazikov.
"According to expert estimates, the loss of this segment means for the economy of Cyprus a loss of about € 1 billion in profit per year," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
He added that Russia used to be one of the key markets for the Cypriot tourism industry.
