Defense of ex-deputy commander of LenVO Mumindzhanov appealed the verdict
The lawyers of the former deputy commander of the Leningrad Military District Valery Mumindzhanov appealed the verdict of the military in the case of bribery. This was announced on March 21 at the office of the Voronezh Garrison Court.
On March 5, the same court sentenced Mumindzhanov to 10 years in prison. In addition, the defendant was fined a one—time amount of the bribe - 17 million 950 thousand rubles, clarifies "Газета.Ru ".
"Yes, [an appeal against the verdict] has been filed," TASS quoted the court as saying.

The Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case on receiving a particularly large bribe (Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) against Mumindzhanov on September 2, 2024. Later, on September 6, 2024, the Major General was charged, he pleaded not guilty. According to investigators, the Major General facilitated the conclusion of contracts for the supply of uniforms for more than 1.5 billion rubles, including to the special operation zone, and for this assistance he received a bribe worth more than 20 million rubles.
