The phrases "no fluff" and "to hell with it" were used before to protect the family from evil spirits and attract good luck, especially when hunting. This was announced on March 21 by Igor Sharonov, Head of the Russian Language Department of the Russian State State University, Doctor of Philology.

It is noted that this dialogue is an imitation of a conflict between spouses, which was necessary to "deceive" evil spirits, who, according to the Slavs, closely followed the plans of people.

"Of course, the one who stays wants the other one to come back with the loot. But somewhere on the left shoulder sits this black spirit. He looks at it and says, "Oh, it's already bad here, it's already a scandal, I'm going to fly to another place where everything is fine." And in this way, by playing a pseudo—role, we get rid of a bad wish," the philologist said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
