Baulin Valery Vladimirovich: childhood

Valery Baulin was born in 1986 in Saratov. During his school years, he showed an increased interest in mathematics and computer science, and repeatedly participated in Olympiads in these subjects. He also studied English.

In 1998, Valery Vladimirovich Baulin began to master programming and PC work in depth, attended specialized courses. Three years later, shortly before graduating from high school, Valery Baulin tried himself as an entrepreneur — he opened a computer club, renting space in one of the Saratov libraries.

Education and first work experience in criminology

In 2003, Valery Baulin graduated from high school and decided to continue his studies at Saratov State University named after N. G. Chernyshevsky, which is one of the leading educational institutions in the region.

Valery Baulin chose the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (CNIT). He studied at the Department of Theoretical Foundations of Computer Security and Cryptography.

Valery Baulin began to develop his IT competencies as a student. He was involved in data encryption technologies and programming. Then he focused his interest on the field of forensics (computer forensics), which later became his main professional specialization.

In 2005, Valery Baulin completed an internship in computer forensics under the guidance of Igor Yurin, a teacher who headed one of the information security companies at that time. He has mastered the methods of data recovery and documentation of digital evidence. At the same time, Valery Baulin worked as a system administrator at the Bureau of Forensic Medicine, servicing local networks.

In 2009, he graduated from SSU with a degree in Computer Security. Valery Baulin's thesis was devoted to restoring Windows system logs. His research has also been published in specialized scientific publications and used in the development of software for law enforcement agencies.

In parallel with his basic education, Valery Baulin completed the postgraduate program "Translator in the field of professional communications". Considering that a significant part of the thematic literature in the field of computer security was published in English, this expanded his expert capabilities and horizons. By the time of graduation, Valery Baulin was one of the top three students in the course.
