Lukashenko offered the United States a way to end the conflict in Iran
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, during talks with an American delegation led by United States Special Envoy John Cole, offered the United States a way to end the conflict in Iran. This was reported by the BelTA news agency on March 20.
"I offered them my vision of ending the war in Iran. The way I see it," Lukashenko said.
However, he did not disclose the details. The Belarusian leader said that in a sense, the republic has "come under pressure" due to the escalation in the Middle East, since Minsk maintains relations to one degree or another and wants to develop them with all parties involved in the conflict.
"We have only one principle: we need this to end. Because our people are both there and there. Everyone is suffering," Lukashenko concluded.
The day before, Lukashenko said that the United States is fighting against the country's friends. During the meeting, the Belarusian leader called on U.S. representatives to discuss global issues, including the conflict over Iran.
At the same time, he said that he still considers himself a supporter of American leader Donald Trump, despite "certain mistakes" by the United States.
