Russians named the most popular destinations for trips in April

Kaliningrad became the most sought-after destination for travel in Russia in April, and Istanbul is the leader among foreign routes. This was reported to Izvestia on March 23 in the Kupibilet service based on the results of the study.

"April is a transitional month when Russians start planning more active trips and more often choose destinations with a mild climate and the opportunity to change the situation after the winter season. When planning trips during this period, we recommend booking tickets in advance and considering departures on weekdays, this will significantly reduce the cost of the flight," the Kupibilet press service noted.

According to the study, Kaliningrad accounts for about 31% of all domestic flights. The average cost of a one-way ticket was 7848 rubles. Sochi took the second place with a 16% share and an average flight price of 9960 rubles. St. Petersburg took the third position, which was chosen by 15% of travelers - it also remains the most affordable destination among the popular ones, with an average ticket price of 4,548 rubles.

Makhachkala and Mineralnye Vody were also among the most popular destinations in Russia, accounting for 14% of the total number of bookings. The average cost of tickets to these cities was 8574 and 10 058 rubles, respectively.

Istanbul became the leader among foreign destinations — about 35% of travelers planning trips abroad chose it. The average cost of a one-way flight was 15,339 rubles. Baku came in second place with a share of 18% and an average ticket price of 11,070 rubles, while Yerevan took the third place with 13% and 14,559 rubles, respectively.

Antalya and Tbilisi are also among the top five popular foreign destinations. They were chosen by 12% and 11% of travelers, while the average ticket price was 22,425 and 16,756 rubles, respectively.

On February 20, S-club experts reported that for a profitable trip across Russia, you should choose northern destinations in winter, the Golden Ring cities in spring, the Baltic Sea and food tours in the south of the country in summer, and cultural routes in autumn. To minimize costs, experts advised to be flexible and monitor airline and railway stocks.
