A criminal case was opened after a dog attacked a child in Moscow.
In Moscow, a criminal case was opened on the fact that a child was injured as a result of a dog bite. This was announced by the press service of the GSU of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the capital on Thursday, March 19.
"During media monitoring, a report was revealed that on March 19, 2026, a dog that was without an owner bit a young child on Suzdalskaya Street in Moscow. The victim, born in 2021, was taken to a medical facility," the Moscow City News agency quoted the message as saying.
The case was initiated on the grounds of a crime under paragraph "b" of Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Intentional infliction of serious harm to health"), reports RT.
Investigators are conducting an inspection of the scene and interrogations, records from surveillance cameras are being viewed, and a forensic medical examination is planned.
Earlier that day, it was reported that a criminal case had been opened in Yakutia against the Neryungri administration after a pack of stray dogs attacked a woman. The incident occurred at the end of February 2026.
