The expert criticized Chinese car tires
In difficult road conditions, Chinese car tires can fail. Their use is a compromise and savings on safety, which is due to poor grip on wet asphalt, according to test results, and rapid wear. This opinion was expressed by Dmitry Akzholov, head of the Marshall auto parts brand, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reported on March 19.
"The more driving experience I have and the longer I work on tires, the better I understand that it's not worth saving on tires. Good tires from reliable brands provide excellent grip on wet and dry roads, minimal noise and excellent steering response. If the budget is tight, then choose trusted Koreans. They are officially supplied to Russia, significantly cheaper than the previous premium and still keep the bar," Akzholov said.
Tire characteristics affect traction, braking distance, and stability. Bad tires require constant monitoring from the driver: steering correction on bumps, increased vigilance in turns and on wet roads, the expert pointed out. As a result, the driver gets tired faster and the probability of an accident increases, he stressed.
As previously told by representatives of the Russian holding company Cordiant (Izvestia has a statement), low prices for Chinese tires are mainly due to the lack of official distributors in the Russian Federation, official warranty support from manufacturers, confirmed by research and independent performance tests. In addition, it is impossible to trace the origin and work history of many Chinese brands represented in Russia, they pointed out.
Earlier, on March 17, two lines of new summer tires, ActiveControl and EcoControl, debuted in Russia under the Gislaved brand. Both models were created using the experience and technologies of Continental and Bridgestone companies. Tires are manufactured at plants in Kaluga and Ulyanovsk.
