Illegal buildings in the flood zone in Transbaikalia will be demolished

The authorities of Transbaikalia decided to demolish illegal buildings that fell into the flood zone during the flood period. The decision was made in preparation for the flood-prone period.

According to Pavel Volzhin, the regional Minister of Natural Resources, quoted by ChitaMedia news agency, due to the fact that the correct municipal land control was not always carried out, and the heads of administrations did not monitor the territories, the water flooded some outbuildings and houses. The issue of the legality of the buildings was on the agenda.

Heads of administrations should form commissions. Continuous detours of such flood zones have already begun. Where illegal buildings that may fall into the flood zone are identified, a decision will be made to demolish them, including through the courts.

Earlier it was reported that flooding is possible in 23 settlements of the Perm Region during the spring flood. Such forecasts were announced by the regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The agency is considering two possible flood scenarios. The largest area of flooding is likely with a sharp warming and heavy precipitation in April-May.
