Filming of the detective film "Black Silk" has started

On March 19, the Nota Bene Film Group film company and the Commercial Fund for the Development of Cinema and Animation, the distributor NMG Kinoprokat, Art Pictures Distribution (part of the National Media Group holding) announced the start of filming the detective action film Black Silk. The film will be released on March 31, 2027.

The film is a sequel to the international blockbuster "Red Silk". The events of modern history take place in Shanghai in the 1930s. It is here that the mysterious cargo, codenamed "Black Silk", is being transported, for which agents from several countries have begun to fight.

Milos Bikovic, Gleb Kalyuzhny and Chinese actress Zheng Hanyi will return to the main roles. In addition, Maxim Matveev will join the team in the role of the legendary scout Richard Sorge, and Serbian actor Aleksandar Radojicic will play the role of one of the antagonists of the film.

Maya Giter, Alexey Takharov, Polina Kutsenko, Ilya Antonenko and Sergey Annenkov are also involved in the cast. Japanese actors Hiroyuki Mori and Junsuke Kinoshita will also take part in the film.

"Filming a sequel to a favorite project is always a good opportunity to open the door to a new secret room. In the sequel, my character Nikolai Garin will solve another mystery. This new case is especially important to him because it is directly related to his personal history and at the same time to the tragedy of the whole world and all mankind. Black Silk is a large—scale and at the same time elegant cinematic narrative, where tension, risk and real espionage intrigue are hidden behind the beautiful exterior," said actor Milos Bikovic, who plays Nikolai Garin.

Instead of the train, which became the main location in the previous part, the action will now unfold in two sets at once: on a Japanese ship and a giant airship. The interior spaces will be created in the pavilion using LED screens so that the actors can work in a real environment. The ship's decoration was built in combination with spillways and gimble, technologies that allow simulating a storm in a pavilion.

"For me, Black Silk is a movie attraction in the best sense of the word. We strive to ensure that the film meets the standards of global blockbusters. This is a stylish and daring detective action game with a sense of humor and an incredible scope. I want the audience to forget where they are for two hours and just enjoy a big, bright and honest entertaining movie," said director Andrei Volgin.

The film is being shot with the support of the Cinema Foundation of the Russian Federation, Rostec State Corporation and its member holdings Shvabe and KRET.

In November last year, the creators of the tape said that the sequel to the film "Red Silk" will preserve the historical atmosphere of the detective, but with the addition of spectacular combat scenes and new locations.
