Davis urged the United States to abandon the ground operation in Iran

Washington should abandon conducting an onshore operation in Iran. This statement was made on March 17 by retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis.

"We simply don't have that many troops in all our ground forces to mount such an attack, and even if we stupidly ordered them in, they would be routed on numerous mountain ranges and valleys that give a decisive advantage to the defending forces," he wrote on social media.
