UAZ launches production of seats for Sollers pickups
The Sollers Group has launched a new production of seats for Sollers ST6 and ST8 pickups at the UAZ industrial site in Ulyanovsk. Avtodom company acted as the industrial partner of the project. Russian suppliers of soft foam elements of pillows, backs and headrests, seat upholstery and heating elements are involved in the project. The design capacity of the line is up to 40 thousand sets of seats per year. It is equipped with electronic equipment that actively monitors technological processes. At the final stage of production, computer testing of each seat is carried out. The system checks the correct tightening of all fasteners and automatically tests the electronics: the operation of heating, adjustments and heating elements.
The assembly workstations are equipped with specialized tools, steam treatment stations for upholstery, lubrication and geometry control of finished seats. It is noted that the flexibility of the new line allows for the production of the entire range of seat modifications for the Sollers ST6 and ST8 models. An expansion of the product range for Sollers ST9 pickups is planned in the near future.
Other major projects at the UAZ site include the launch of production of the Sollers S9 SUV and the UAZ family of cars with new powertrains, a new pressing plant and the construction of a paint complex.
Earlier, on March 13, it was reported that the Sollers group is preparing to launch a new production of steering wheels, airbags and seat belts, as well as electronic control units at the UAZ industrial site. For the first time, the project will use technologies that have no analogues in Russia.
