Japanese scientists have discovered a new dangerous subtype of blood cancer
Japanese researchers have identified a new dangerous subtype of blood cancer, which is more common in adolescents and young adults, is difficult to diagnose with standard tests and is characterized by an unfavorable prognosis. This was announced on March 18 by the head of the study, Kenichi Yoshida, head of the Cancer Progression Research Department at the National Cancer Center of Japan.
It is noted that we are talking about a new subtype of T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, a malignant blood disease that arises from immature immune cells. In a study of more than a thousand cases of T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, a new subtype was found in 14 patients aged 7 to 35 years, with an average age of about 17 years, indicating a more frequent occurrence of the disease in adolescents and young adults.
