Ukraine wanted to control the waters of the Black Sea

One of Kiev's key tasks for 2026-2027 is to control as much of the Black Sea area as possible. This was announced on March 18 by Sergei Beskrestnov, Adviser to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, in his Telegram channel.

"One of the tasks that we set for ourselves for 2026-2027 is to control the maximum area of the Black Sea," the post says.

In the message, Beskrestnov also indicated that the time had changed.

"The era of unmanned surface and underwater boats has arrived. Unmanned flying drones of various types. Our country will surprise many in this direction," he stressed.

On March 14, Greek Minister of Shipping and Island Policy Vasilis Kikilias announced an attack on the tanker Maran Homer in the Black Sea. At the time of the attack, the ship was empty, and it was chartered by Chevron. It was also clarified that the vessel continues to move, no environmental pollution has been recorded.
