The doctor named the alarming causes of snoring

Snoring can occur in humans with swelling of the mucous membranes of the soft palate. Maria Konovalova, a rehabilitologist and Candidate of Medical Sciences, told about this on March 17.

"One of the common causes of snoring is swelling of the mucous membranes of the soft palate. It can occur due to allergies, inflammatory diseases of the oropharynx, smoking, or decreased thyroid function," Konovalova told <url>.

The doctor also added that snoring can be associated with the peculiarities of the human body structure, for example, with a small lower jaw. Konovalova noted that special orthodontic devices are used in this situation.
