In the city of Noginsk, Moscow region, the body of a 12-year-old boy with a stab wound to the chest was found in an apartment. According to preliminary data, the child was killed by his own mother, who was unconscious in the next room. A criminal case has been opened, the GSU of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia for the region reported on March 17.

"The body of a 12-year-old boy with a stab wound to the chest was found in one of the apartments in the city of Noginsk, while the child's mother was unconscious in the next room," the department said.

According to investigators, on March 16, a 49-year-old woman and her son arrived in Noginsk from the capital, where they stayed in a rented apartment. The next day, the owner came to the apartment and, seeing what had happened, called an ambulance and the police.

The boy's mother is currently in intensive care. Investigators and criminologists are working at the scene, all the circumstances of the incident are being established. The criminal case is qualified under the article on the murder of a minor.
