The Moscow Arbitration Court postponed to March 31 the consideration of the application of the Federal Tax Service (FTS) for bankruptcy of blogger Lerchek (real name — Valery Chekalin), RIA Novosti reported on March 17.

It is noted that the pause was made in order for the Federal Tax Service to verify in the statement of the representative of Lercek that the blogger paid off her tax arrears on March 16.

"The court is adjourning. <...> This time will be enough for the authorized body to check whether the debt has been repaid," Judge Dina Kuznetsova said.

As the Izvestia correspondent clarified from the courtroom, the blogger fully repaid the debt owed to the Federal Tax Service.

"The debt has been fully repaid at the moment, and accordingly, after the tax authority verifies this information, we believe that the bankruptcy case will be terminated," her representative at the Arbitration Court said.

On March 16, the court released Chekalina from house arrest after confirming that she had cancer. Also, due to illness, it was allowed to suspend judicial proceedings in the blogger's criminal case on her withdrawal of more than 250 million rubles to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). A correspondent for Izvestia reported from the courtroom that the blogger's children live with her ex-husband, Artyom.

The hospital doctors assessed Lercek's condition as moderate, her lawyer said. On March 11, Chekalina began treatment at the state cancer Center. She was later taken to a medical facility to begin a course of chemotherapy. The lover and father of her fourth child, Lercek Luis Squicciarini, announced on March 8 that she had cancer cells.
