- The NYT reported on Qatar's request to the United States to provide interceptors for air defense
Qatar has asked the United States for additional interceptors for air defense systems amid increased attacks from Iran. This was reported on March 17 by The New York Times (NYT).
According to the sources of the publication, stocks of American interceptors used to repel missile and unmanned attacks are rapidly declining and remain limited in resources. Against this background, a number of countries in the region are looking for alternative solutions: Saudi Arabia has turned to Ukraine, the United Arab Emirates to France and Australia, as well as Italy for air defense systems.
"The Gulf states have expressed the urgent need to urgently strengthen their defense capabilities," said Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reported yesterday that Iran will continue to strike US bases in the Middle East until the complete withdrawal of the US military from the region.
On the same day, the IRGC warned owners of American businesses in the Middle East about strikes in the coming hours. In addition, the corps asked residents of the areas around the factories that belong to the Americans to leave these territories in order to avoid possible damage.
