A shipment of illegal electronic cigarettes and their liquids was seized in Lipetsk. The total cost of the goods amounted to 7.9 million rubles, according to the press service of the regional department of the Interior Ministry.

Illegal vapes were found in the possession of a 31-year-old resident of Tambov and a 32-year-old resident of Lipetsk. They purchased electronic nicotine delivery systems for further resale through small wholesale outlets in the city.

The products were not registered in accordance with the procedure established by law, GOROD48 writes. Fake labels were found on e-cigarettes and liquids.

A criminal case was opened against the attackers under 1.1 of Article 171.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Production, acquisition, storage, transportation or sale of goods and products without labeling by a group of persons by prior agreement." The defendants face up to four years in prison with a fine of up to 100,000 rubles.

Earlier it was reported that licensing of wholesale and retail sales of cigarettes, vapes and sticks, which was planned to be introduced on March 1 this year, will be postponed until the autumn. We are talking about amendments to the law on tobacco market regulation, which the State Duma adopted in the first reading in the fall of 2025.
