Education and the beginning of a career path
Andrey Golikov was born on December 21, 1945. In 1969, he graduated from the acting department of the Moscow Art Theater Studio School. From 1969 to 1971, Golikov worked at the Central Children's Theater.
In 1976, he received a diploma from the directing faculty of the Moscow Art Theater Studio School, having completed the course of actor Oleg Yefremov.

In 1976, Golikov was accepted into the troupe of the Gorky Moscow Art Theater. He performed his first role there as a student in the play "Weekdays and Holidays" based on the play by Alexander Galich and Irina Grekova while still studying. Death
Golikov died on March 16, 2026. The cause of death was a skull hematoma sustained after a fall in the theater. According to the actor's wife Marina Pavlyuk, the incident occurred on March 13, when Golikov fell and hit his head hard on the granite floor during an attack of vascular dystonia.
Three days later, on March 16, the actor underwent emergency surgery, the operation lasted four hours, and doctors diagnosed a severe hematoma of the frontotemporal part of the brain.
Despite all the efforts of the doctors, Golikov never came out of his coma. Pavlyuk noted that she understood in advance that it was impossible to save him.
