Andrey Golikov, an honored actor of the Gorky Moscow Art Theater, died at the age of 81. This was announced on March 16 by the press service of the theater in its Telegram channel.
"On March 16, one of the oldest actors of the Gorky Moscow Art Theater, Andrei Borisovich Golikov, died at the age of 81," the statement said.
Golikov graduated from the acting department of the Moscow Art Theater Studio School in 1969, and later from the directing department in 1976. In the same year, he was accepted into the troupe of the Gorky Moscow Art Theater, where he remained until the end of his career. Since 1987, Golikov has worked in the theater under the direction of Tatiana Doronina.
His repertoire included significant roles in such productions as "So Let's Win!", "Kremlin Chimes", "Tartuffe" and others. He also worked actively as a director, having staged the plays "Live and Remember" and "Natasha" at the Grozny Lermontov Russian Drama Theater.
Golikov also taught at the Moscow Art Theater Studio School, the Institute of Contemporary Art, and VGIK, combining acting and teaching. In 2011-2017, he also played at the Et Cetera Theater.
