Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said that Tehran has never asked the United States for a cease-fire or negotiations on current issues. This was reported on March 15 in the Telegram channel of the Mehr agency.

"Iran has never asked for a ceasefire or negotiations on this issue. I am ready to defend our country as long as it is necessary," he said.

Araqchi stressed that Iran is attacking exclusively American facilities, installations and military bases. He added that the territories of the Persian Gulf countries are being used for attacks on Iran.

In addition, the Foreign Minister noted that the Iranian military did not close the Strait of Hormuz. The reason why ships cannot safely pass through this route is the unsafe environment caused by the "American aggression." Araqchi also said that Tehran has received requests from several countries to create a safe passage for their ships, but the final decision on this issue is made by the Iranian army.

Araqchi said on March 15 that the United States and Israel are using Lucas drones, which are similar to Iran's Shahed drones, to increase tension between Tehran and its neighbors. According to him, such tactics are used to spoil Iran's relations with other Middle Eastern states.

On March 13, US Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll announced that the United States had sent 10,000 Merops interceptor drones to the Middle East to repel Iranian attacks. According to him, American drones will be cheaper than Iranian ones in any case.
