The Russian national team took the third place in the medal standings of the Paralympics in Italy

The Russian national team finished the Paralympic Games in Italy in third place in the medal standings. Athletes from Russia won eight gold, one silver and three bronze medals.

The leader of the tournament was the Chinese team, which took first place with 15 gold, 13 silver and 16 bronze medals. The USA took the second place with 12 gold, five silver and six bronze awards. Two more gold medals will be awarded at the Paralympics.

Six Russian athletes competed at the Games, competing under national symbols for the first time in 12 years.

Alpine skier Varvara Voronchikhina won two gold, one silver and one bronze medals. Alpine skier Alexey Bugaev won gold and two bronze medals. Skier Anastasia Baghiyan became a three-time Paralympic champion, and skier Ivan Golubkov reached the highest step of the podium twice.
