Seismologists have registered tremors in the waters near the Kamchatka Territory with a magnitude of 5.2. This was announced on March 15 at the regional branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
According to experts, the epicenter of the event was located at a distance of 379 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The earthquake was located at a depth of 58.8 km under the seabed, writes TASS.
There is currently no information about casualties or the threat of a tsunami.
On March 8, the Kamchatka branch of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution of the Federal Research Center "Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences" reported that an earthquake of magnitude 6.5 was recorded off the coast of Kamchatka. Information about whether the earthquake was felt in populated areas and possible consequences has not yet been received.
