On March 15, Hungarian energy experts were not allowed to conduct a technical inspection of the Druzhba oil pipeline to assess its operability.

The Ukrainian side also refused to allow the delegation to hold meetings at the relevant ministry. The head of the delegation, Deputy Minister of Energy of Hungary Gabor Tsepek, confirmed the completion of the mission.

"We came back. We crossed the border at one o'clock this morning," TASS quoted him as saying.

On March 13, French President Emmanuel Macron called for the restoration of Friendship as soon as possible. He also noted that he was aware of "Ukraine's commitments in this area."

On the same day, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto stated that Budapest had no intentions of "succumbing to the blackmail" of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. He also noted that no one has the right to tell Hungary which oil to buy. He noted that the Hungarian side defends its sovereignty.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on March 7 that he had received a threatening message from Zelensky and considered them addressed to the whole of Hungary. The prime minister added that Hungary always strives for peace, and called on Ukraine to stop blackmail and the oil blockade, as well as to ensure oil supplies to the country.
