Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin congratulated the capital's utilities on their professional holiday — Housing and Communal Services Workers' Day.

As the mayor noted in his channel in the MAX, "from the first days of the year until the end of February, Moscow utilities have mobilized all their resources to combat record snowfall." They were helped by "thousands of employees of energy, construction and other related enterprises of the Moscow Urban Economy Complex," the mayor recalled, thanking the utilities who "coped with their task."

With the onset of spring, the Russian capital is transformed — soon it will be a "green, elegant, cozy and festive city." Employees of the housing and communal services sector are contributing to these changes, the mayor said.

Sobyanin thanked the utilities of the capital for their "tremendous work and high professionalism," as well as for their "invaluable contribution to the development of the best city on Earth."

Earlier this week, Sobyanin announced that Moscow's traditional spring cleaning would be completed by May 1. Work will begin as soon as the weather permits. As part of the clean-up, it is planned to put urban and courtyard areas in order, renovate playgrounds and sports grounds, upgrade container areas, as well as carry out work on facades and plinths of residential buildings, entrances and basements.

In addition, the road infrastructure will be updated: fences and stops will be painted, road signs and signs will be washed, and markings will be updated. Monuments, bridges, tunnels, pedestrian crossings and other engineering structures will also be put in order, and the city will be prepared for the opening of the fountain season. According to Sobyanin, Sobyanin added that the cleaning will also affect energy supply facilities — street lights, heating points, transformer substations and other technical facilities.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
