Yemen has threatened to block the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait in case of war with Israel.

A senior representative of the Yemeni armed forces, Abed al-Thawr, said that the country could block the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait for American and Israeli ships in the event of Iran joining the war in the Middle East. This was reported on March 15 by the Press TV channel.

"After the decision to intervene is made, the first measure may be the official declaration of a naval blockade against the United States and the Zionist regime. Merchant ships and military vessels, including aircraft carriers destined for the United States and the occupied territories, may be stopped," al-Thawr said.
