The media reported on the AdG's proposal to open pubs in German villages
The German Alternative for Germany (AfD) party plans to restore the operation of pubs and taverns in rural areas of Germany. This was reported by the Bild newspaper on March 14.
"The party wants to reopen the closed village pubs. Beer will be bottled in AdG pubs and bratwurst (sausages) will be sold. — Ed.). AFD politicians intend to attract new voters in this way," the publication says.
According to the publication, the AFG wants to test its project in the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate. It is specified that multifunctional centers will be organized on the site of former inns or wineries, which will serve as a meeting place for Germans.
It is noted that potential sponsors have already been found for this initiative.
The German newspaper Stern reported on February 2 that beer sales in Germany in 2025 decreased by 6% and reached a historically low figure. It was clarified that the decline in demand for alcoholic beverages in Germany has been traced for several years.
