North Korea held exercises on strikes using MLRS
The DPRK authorities conducted exercises on strikes using ultra-precise multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS). This was reported on March 15 by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
"12 complexes of high-precision 600—millimeter multiple launch rocket systems and two artillery companies are involved in the exercises," the publication says.
According to KCNA, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un was present at the exercises.
It is specified that the shells were fired at an island target in the Sea of Japan, which was located at a distance of 364.4 km. Kim Jong-un, watching the shooting practice, noted the training of military personnel and highly appreciated the combat properties of the new MLRS.
The South Korean Yonhap news agency reported on March 14 that North Korea had fired an unidentified projectile in an easterly direction. According to the Japanese NHK World TV channel, North Korea has launched a ballistic missile.
