A two-year-old girl died due to snow falling from the roof of a private house in Perm

In Perm, a two-year-old girl died after snow fell from the roof of a private house located on a garden plot. This was announced on March 14 in the press service of the Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation for the Perm Region in the MAX messenger.

"The investigation found that during the daytime on March 13, 2026, a girl born in 2024, who was with her father at a private house on a garden plot, came down from the roof of the specified house, a snow-ice mass," the report says.

According to the agency, the victim was taken to a medical facility. However, the girl died from her injuries.

It clarifies that a criminal case has been opened under Part 1 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing death by negligence"). The investigative authorities are conducting a check to establish all the circumstances.

On February 28, the Moscow Region Prosecutor's Office reported that an 11-year-old boy died in Podolsk after the driver of a snowplow filled in a snowdrift in which the child had dug a tunnel. The investigators opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 216 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of safety rules during work, resulting in the death of a person"). Employees of the management company are being interrogated, and forensic examinations have been scheduled.
