Skier Korostelev took 10th place in the marathon at the World Cup
On March 14, Russian skier Savely Korostelev finished 10th in the 50 km freestyle marathon race at the World Cup in Norway. The gap from the winner, Norwegian Einar Hedegaart, was 1 minute 24.2 seconds.
Hedegart covered the distance in 1 hour 51 minutes 38.2 seconds. The second place was taken by his compatriot Harald Amundsen, who was only 0.4 seconds behind. The third was another Norwegian, Martin Nuenget, who finished 1.1 seconds behind.
Korostelev is 22 years old, he is a two-time world junior champion and multiple winner of the Russian championships. This year he also participated in the Olympic Games in Italy, where his best result was fourth place in skiathlon.
On March 8, Korostelev won his first medal at the World Cup in Lahti, finishing third in the 10 km race. It was specified that the athlete performed with a score of 23 minutes 56.5 seconds. The first place was taken by Norwegian Johannes Klebo, who covered the distance in 23 minutes and 22.6 seconds.
